Mission Statement

Smithville Montessori Academy Inc. II provides a complete Montessori education that considers the emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development of the whole child by addressing uniqueness, nurturing, emotional needs, and an academic environment.

We believe this is best accomplished by:

  • Providing a curriculum that follows Montessori standards using informed research on child development and learning.
  • Fostering a love for learning and building lifelong learners.
  • Embracing diversity in which students can learn to respect racial, ethnic, cultural, and economic differences.
  • Recognize that personal growth involves responsibility towards others and their community and the world.
  • Foster a support system of parents and community, teachers, and students.

Core Values

Education and Lifelong Learning- We believe the Montessori Method of education is the best model for our school and students. We value a prepared environment that is both purposeful and peaceful. A hands-on on stimulating environment allows children to achieve success as lifelong learners.

Community-Building a team of students, teachers, leaders, parents, and volunteers allows for a diverse group that works together for the best interest of the school. Each person is expected to take responsibility for their own actions and contribute to the success of the school, students, staff, and families.

Compassion-We respect children and each other as we build a community that supports and demonstrates a Montessori philosophy in their everyday lives. We value a uniqueness of each member of our school and community and recognize every child or teacher may have a different need at a different time. We will respond with compassion and will be guided by our school rules and policies. We are humans and must treat each other with integrity, dignity, and kindness.

Excellence-We strive to attain high standards of performance in what we do to develop the maximum potential of every student and teacher. Our students are guided to be self-motivated and self-disciplined and independent learners with respect for their school and environment. We will continue to seek ways to improve our school.
