Infant Communities

6 weeks - 18 months

“The greatness of the human personality begins at the hour of birth.” – Maria Montessori

Posy Community - Our Infant Program

The Infant Community is designed to meet the unique developmental needs of children from six weeks to 18 months. The Montessori-trained Infant Guides maintains a flexible daily rhythm to honor the diverse needs of each child. This nurturing environment supports all areas of infant development, including movement, rest, feeding, outdoor exploration, and early social and cognitive experiences.

In this carefully prepared setting, infants are supported in developing independence, trust, and a sense of security. These classrooms are thoughtfully arranged to encourage movement, exploration, and discovery at each child’s own pace. From soft areas for crawling and rolling to age-appropriate materials that stimulate the senses, every detail is designed with the child’s development in mind.

Our teachers are specially trained in Montessori education and child development from ages 0–3 years. With this expertise, they are able to observe each child closely, respond to their individual needs, and guide them through critical milestones such as language development, fine and gross motor skills, and early social interactions.

We work in close partnership with families to ensure consistency between home and school, fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. In our Infant classrooms, your child will be cared for with respect, encouraged to explore with curiosity, and supported in building the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
