Toddler Communities

18 months - 3 years

“The child gives us a beautiful lesson – that in order to form and maintain our intelligence, we must use our hands.” – Maria Montessori

Lilac Community & Violet Community

The Toddler Community provides a warm, supportive environment for children ages 18 months to 3 years. Our Montessori-trained Guides partner with families to encourage independence, autonomy, and early toilet learning, while helping children gently transition from parental care. Through purposeful activities and social interactions, toddlers begin to develop self-confidence, emotional resilience, and a strong foundation for future learning.

Children experience the joy of discovery through hands-on exploration, with a focus on both fine and gross motor development, as well as social and emotional growth.

Each morning, toddlers participate in a Montessori work cycle, where they are free to choose purposeful activities that match their interests and developmental needs. These activities include:

  • Practical life work such as dishwashing, food preparation, and flower arranging
  • Creative expression through art and music
  • Early language lessons that build vocabulary and communication skills
  • Hands-on experiences that refine motor coordination and concentration

Our teachers, trained in Montessori education and child development for ages 0–3 years, guide each child with patience and expertise. Through gentle observation and individualized support, the children gain independence, social skills, and respect for themselves and others.

The Toddler classrooms balance freedom with structure, giving children opportunities to practice daily routines, explore practical skills, and enjoy both individual and group activities. By fostering independence in nurturing environments, we help toddlers build a strong foundation for future learning and a deep love of discovery.
