Early Childhood Communities

3 years - 6 years

“Children live in a world of their own interest, and the work they do there must be respected, for although many activities of children may seem pointless to grownups, Nature is using them for her own ends. She is building mind and character as well as bone and muscle .” – Maria Montessori

Marigold Community & Iris Community

Our Early Childhood classrooms are fully prepared learning environments guided by Montessori-trained teachers. Each child is thoughtfully observed to ensure lessons are introduced at the right time, meeting their individual developmental stage and interests.

The Early Childhood curriculum includes seven core areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Geography, Science, and Cultural Studies. Through these carefully designed materials and lessons, children build concentration, coordination, independence, and a love of learning.

Hands-on activities support the development of reading, writing, and mathematical understanding, while cultural studies broaden their knowledge of history, geography, science, and the arts. The daily routine balances focused work periods with outdoor play, music, art, and opportunities for rest.

During the uninterrupted morning work cycle, children are free to choose from a wide range of Montessori materials that meet their individual developmental needs. These activities include:

  • Practical Life: care of self, care of the environment, and activities that build concentration, order, and independence
  • Sensorial Materials: refining the senses through exploration of shapes, colors, textures, sounds, and more
  • Mathematics: concrete, hands-on materials that prepare the foundation for abstract math concepts
  • Language: phonetic awareness, reading, writing, and rich vocabulary development
  • Cultural Studies: geography, science, art, and music that foster global awareness and appreciation for the natural world

Our teachers are trained and certified in Montessori education and child development for ages 3–6 years, equipping them to guide each child with expertise and care. Through observation and individualized lessons, they support every child’s progress while encouraging a love of learning and respect for the community.

The Early Childhood classrooms prepare children not only with strong academic foundations but also with the life skills, confidence, and compassion needed to thrive. By fostering independence in a nurturing and structured environment, children gain the tools to succeed in school and beyond.
